Renee Welsh Women's Health Forum 2021

Renee Welsh

I have worked in the Domestic and Family Violence sector for 10 years and my previous employment consisted mainly working with Women and Children that had been affected by DFV. During my last position, a Police officer I worked alongside asked if I would be interested in starting something to work with the male perpetrators of DFV. Back in 2019 I established Reset Support Service and we currently run programs for male perpetrators of DFV, provide Counselling, case management and Court support if required. I have a Counselling background as do most of my team and we have found that working from a Trauma based framework with these clients has given great results and outcomes. I have worked in the Community Services Sector for the past 17 years- Supervised visitation practitioner, support worker with Disabilities, suppport worker with Mental Health and Counselling DFV clients and children. Also managing a Women and Children's Refuge for families that had escaped DFV.
