Jessica M Turner
I have worked as an obstetric doctor for over 10 years and for the last 3 years have been undertaking my PhD with a focus on reducing the burden of disease associated with birth asphyxia. I recently submitted my thesis on "identification of the at risk fetus and reducing the risk of intrapartum fetal compromise and other adverse perinatal outcomes". During my PhD I have published over 20 publications with 12 first-author publications. I am now running a clinical trial with the aim of identifying a placental biomarker that can be measured in maternal blood in the third trimester to better identify those babies that will be born small for gestational age and those that will develop adverse perinatal outcomes.
